Sale highlights
This was one of those houses where the building itself is part of the collection. Original 1890s woodwork, glass doorknobs, and pocket doors. The owner was a retired seamstress who never threw anything away, which in this case was a good thing.
What was available
The parlor had a fainting couch, a marble-top side table, and an oak bookcase with glass doors. The sewing room upstairs had three vintage machines including a 1950s Singer 201 in a cabinet. Fabric bolts, patterns from the 1960s and 70s, buttons sorted by color in mason jars.
The closets had vintage dresses, hats, and costume jewelry. A couple of fur stoles that sparked some debate among buyers. The kitchen had a Hoosier cabinet, enamelware, and a collection of Depression-era glass.
